D'Aguilar National Park Mt Mee Section

Army tank outside Woodford Information Centre

First stop was Woodford information centre ,was staffed by 2 really friendly and helpful volunteers who gave us loads of great information.
Drove to Bellthorpe State Forest to the Stony Creek Swimming Hole. Would be a great place to visit in summer and swim.

                                                   Stony Creek

Then back thru Woodford to the Mt Mee section of D'Aguilar National Park.
Had lunch in the Gantry Picnic Area, so called because of the remains of a gantry shed from earlier days when this area was milled for the timber.
Had 2 Kookaburras and 3 Magpies watch every mouthful we ate then did the Piccabeen Walk which winds thru the forest.

Our lunch guests and the Gantry Shed

In the car and onto Falls lookout and Bull Falls just a short walk where you look down on a small waterfall. There were a group of rangers doing maintenance on the lookout platform so had a nice little chat before back in the car to Neuraun Creek Drive and Mill Rainforest Walk this was a nice meander thru forest and creek.

                                   Some Fungi just because

Back in the car and onto Rocky Hole this would also be a great place to visit in summer to swim.
                                          Rocky Hole

Them home via Delaney Creek. Was a lovely day even though get got a little worried on the way out that we may have taken the wrong road but as usual we were just too anxious.

Hi all have decided to blog my travels just on the off chance that anyone is interest and for myself as a record of where I've been and what I've seen.
Our first stop was  Laidley where we camped at Lake Dyer about 3km out of town, was a really nice camping area reasonably priced with basic older but very clean ammenities.
we did a scenic day tour while there to Glen Rock Regional Park. We started the trip at Gatton Information Centre where we collected a map and all the necessary information that we needed. The drive meandered through the valley beside and over creeks passing through little villages and hamlets til we arrived at Glen Rock to find it closed due to the damage suffered in the 2011 and 2012 floods, was a little disappointed but its a good excuse to come back another time.
From Glen rock we headed back down the road for a picnic lunch at Junction View before taking a side trip to see some Aborginal Rock Carvings, sadly the track up to the carvings was very overgrown but the carvings very visible when we got to them.
We then headed back to civilization via Heifer Creek and MaMa Creek stopping at MaMa village for a wander around the old church and cemetary where of course I wish I could find out the stories behind some of the interesting headstones.
Our final stop was at Cunninghams Crest lookout where there are fantastic views over the whole of the Laidley Valley.
Every where we drove there were still lots of damage from the floods, broken fences washed out creek crossings and left behind rubbish, it must have been devastating  for the people living there.
We spent ages being entertained by the flock of parrots feeding on the blossoms of the Grass Trees.

Kassie's coat mark 3 have spent the last week knitting and unpicking and re knitting to make Krissy's fat lab a coat for winter she is such a fatty that we couldn't buy one to fit so I decided to knit her one but couldn't find a pattern to fit so had to invent it as I went along. I am pretty happy with the end result but Kassie isn't so sure wouldn't co-operate for a photo

Its quite a pleasant day here in Adelaide today am only wearing 1 pair of socks and 1 jumper have been rugged up like a polar bear in multiple layers since I got here and asking myself why I have chosen to visit in winter other than I needed a Nanna fix
