Virgin Rock Rest Area is just outside Springsure and was a really nice overnight rest area. Its claim to frame is the erosion on the rockface of the Sandstone Mt looks like the Virgin Mary in the late afternoon when the sun is at the right angle
Our next stop was Roma only stayed overnight and then went on to Surat where we stayed at Fishermans Camp which is just outside the town on the river, has toilets and camping fees are by donation.
From Surat it was on to St George where we caught up with our friends Dot and Reg for a really lovely weekend.
After St Gorge we headed for Moree with a stop for a coffee at Nindigully Pub
Then stopped for lunch at Talwood where Fred of course had to make friends with the locals
From there to Moree where we stayed for a week.

Clairview
Clairview is a lovely little spot where we spent a couple of day at a free camp at the end of the village.
It is just a small settlement of houses, no shops, just a community op-shop cum craft shop run by volunteers in the community centre situated in the middle of the park where everyone camps.
There is a small caravan park at the other end of the village for those who prefer not to free camp
When the tide is in you are quite close to the water but at low tide its is miles away.
The sea here is a Dugong Sanctuary and at high tide you can watch them playing in the water, not quite as awe inspiring as whales but still a wonderful experience
